Fat Freeze

Working theory
Triglyceride in fats will be converted into solid in particular low temperatures.

It uses advanced cooling technology in selectively target fat bulges and eliminate fat cells through a gradual process that does not harm the surrounding tissues, reduce unwanted fat, when fat cells are exposed to precise cooling, they trigger a process of natural removal that gradually reduces the thickness of the fat layer. And the fat cells in the treated area are gently eliminated through the body’s normal metabolism process, to eliminate unwanted fat.

What happens to the fat cells?

During the procedure, exposure to cooling causes fat cell apoptosis, which leads to the release off-at layer. The fat cells in the treated area are gently eliminated through the body’s normal metabolism process, much like fat from food.

What will happen after the treatment?

The procedure is non-invasive. Most patients typically resume their routine activities, including returning to work and exercise regimes on the same day as the procedure. Transient local redness, bruising and numbness of the skin are common side effects of the treatment and expected to subside in couple of hours. Typically sensory deficits will subside within 1-8 weeks.

How long the effect will last?

Patient experiencing fat layer reduction show persistent results at least one year after the procedure. The fat cells in the treated area are gently eliminated through the body’s normal metabolism process. The elimination of fat cells as a result of the procedure is expected to last as long as fat cells removed by invasive procedures such as liposuction.

How many will I need?

One treatment takes one hour per area treated. One area is typically about the sixe of your hand. Therefore, each ‘love handle’ would be considered one area, and the lower abdomen is typically considered two areas. You can treat more than one area at a single office visit. To treat two areas takes just over two hours. For many patients, the second treatment in the same area will be beneficial since fat freezing removes about 25% of the fat cells per treatment. The fat cells that are damaged by the treatment are frozen and later absorbed by the body’s own metabolic process and are gone permanently. Typical results take about 8 weeks to be fully realized, and therefore many patients schedule second treatments at that time. Results may vary from patient to patient.

Will treating the desired area be painful?

With this non-invasive procedure, there is no need for anaesthesia or pain medications, and no recovery time. The procedure is comfortable for most patients, most can read, work on their laptop computer, listen to music or just relax.

Do you gain the fat back after the treatment?

If you follow a poor lifestyle and gain weight, existing fat cells can enlarge and/or you can form new fat cells. However, the fat cells that are impacted by fat freeze are cleared permanently and do not return.

 Will the skin sag after?

Typically the skin re-drapes after elimination of the fat we have not seen increased skin sagging after although we do recommend a maintenance program after the procedure to ensure the best results.
